What's New in Word Chain

Changes you'll notice when you play, newest first.

9 October 2026

• Many more words now count, like app, cardio, selfie and emoji. UK, Australian and Canadian players get over twice as many words as before.
• Days, months, countries and continents now count. Other names, like people and towns, still don't.
• Fixed: a space after a word (added by many phone keyboards) froze the game.
• Fixed: typing a word just as the timer hit 0 could break the timer.

4 July 2026

• New: the Daily Puzzle. One new word chain puzzle every day.
• New: daily leaderboards for your streak, the week and the month.
• New: your stats page, with your daily and endless results in one place.
• You can now delete your account from the Account page.

25 July 2025

• New: 10-second and 30-second modes, each with its own leaderboard.
